Sysora documentation

Learn how to install Sysora Ubuntu .deb, activate licenses, run office setup presets, and manage reports.

Install

Install Sysora Ubuntu Office Kit

Start with the Ubuntu .deb build, run the system check, and keep the first setup report so the machine has a clear baseline.

Steps

  1. 1Download the current Ubuntu .deb from the Download page.
  2. 2Open the package with Software Install, or run sudo apt install ./sysora-office-kit_*.deb from the download folder.
  3. 3Launch Sysora Office Kit and run the system check before selecting apps.
  4. 4Review the package queue, apply the recommended Office Basic preset, and save the generated report.

Notes

  • Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and 24.04 LTS are the safest targets for the current .deb workflow.
  • Use a local user account with sudo permission when installing system packages.
  • Keep internet access enabled while APT packages and catalog metadata are refreshed.

License

Activate a Sysora license

License activation unlocks paid setup flows, device records, catalog sync, and report upload from the desktop app.

Steps

  1. 1Open Sysora Office Kit and go to the license or cloud section.
  2. 2Paste the license key from your Sysora account or purchase email.
  3. 3Select Activate and wait for the device to appear in the active device list.
  4. 4If the device limit is reached, deactivate an old machine before activating the current one.

Notes

  • License keys are tied to the plan and device allowance shown in your account.
  • Activation requires HTTPS access to Sysora Cloud.
  • Do not share a license key in screenshots, support tickets, or public logs.

Profiles

Run an office setup preset

Profiles turn repeated office setup work into a reusable checklist for apps, fonts, PDF tools, printers, scanners, and handoff notes.

Steps

  1. 1Open the app and choose the built-in Office Basic or Full preset.
  2. 2Add or remove catalog items for the target user, department, or client.
  3. 3Review the selected applications before confirming batch installation.
  4. 4Run the preset, then review skipped or failed items before generating the report.

Notes

  • Use Office Basic for the core office set and Full only when the broader catalog is needed.
  • Keep manual notes for printers, scanners, local network shares, and steps that cannot be automated.
  • Review preset contents after catalog updates because third-party installers can change.

Technicians

Use technician mode for client work

Technician mode keeps setup sessions, batch presets, client-ready reports, and device history organized across repeated jobs.

Steps

  1. 1Start a technician session before changing the customer machine.
  2. 2Confirm the machine name, operating system, and notes before running setup.
  3. 3Run the setup queue and record any manual follow-up items.
  4. 4Generate the report, review it, then close the session when the handoff is complete.

Notes

  • Use one session per machine so reports and history stay easy to audit.
  • Add client-visible notes for skipped items instead of leaving unexplained failures.
  • Technician features depend on your plan and may appear progressively as the desktop app is updated.

Business

Enroll business devices

Business enrollment is for teams that need seat-based licensing, device records, setup standards, and central visibility.

Steps

  1. 1Choose a Business plan or contact sales with the expected seat count.
  2. 2Create or confirm the organization owner account.
  3. 3Activate each device with the organization license and assign a recognizable device name.
  4. 4Use built-in presets, central policies, and reports to keep every team machine aligned to the same standard.

Notes

  • Start with a small pilot group before enrolling every machine.
  • Use device names that include location, department, or asset code.
  • Some organization dashboard and central policy features are roadmap items and may not appear in every account yet.

Catalog

Install apps from the Sysora catalog

The app catalog groups office apps, fonts, input methods, PDF tools, scan/print utilities, browsers, meeting apps, and archive tools into one reviewable queue.

Steps

  1. 1Open the catalog and review the categories needed for the machine.
  2. 2Select individual apps or apply a built-in preset that preselects the common office set.
  3. 3Check each item's status before installing: installed, missing, queued, skipped, or needs review.
  4. 4Run the install queue and keep the app open until package manager tasks finish.
  5. 5Refresh the catalog after installation and resolve any items marked failed or needs review.

Notes

  • APT packages can install directly; some third-party apps may require a browser, external installer, or manual confirmation.
  • Input methods, fonts, printers, scanners, and PDF utilities often need a restart or sign out before users see every change.
  • Catalog sync uses Sysora Cloud when available, so paid plans can receive newer metadata without reinstalling the desktop app.

Reports

Create and share setup reports

Reports summarize the machine, installed items, skipped items, errors, manual notes, and handoff status.

Steps

  1. 1Run system checks and the selected setup preset before creating a report.
  2. 2Review warnings, failed items, and manual notes while the details are still fresh.
  3. 3Export the local report or upload it to Sysora Cloud if your plan includes report upload.
  4. 4Share the report with the customer, manager, or team owner as the final setup handoff.

Notes

  • A useful report should explain skipped items, not just list installed packages.
  • Remove sensitive customer data before sending a report outside the organization.
  • Keep reports with device records so future support work starts from known setup history.
